4 Mar 1901 to 4 Mar 1909 - Chairman of the Committee on Banking and Currency[2] (During the Panic of 1907 which resulted in the Aldrich-Vreeland Act 30 May 1908)
1900 - Instrumental in establishing monetary commission of that year, which brought about enactment of gold standard; member of committee on civil service reform throughout his term in Congress and at times of committees on insular affairs and foreign affairs.[2]
